Kat Von D | Lock-It foundation

Hey, Beauties!

Resultatet

Hey, Beauties! Hope you have read about my first visit to Sephora (HER), I have bought some delights that I have tested. I have bought Kat Von Lock-It Foundation and Kat Von Lock-It Setting Powder, so it was obvious to try her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I will give a review of the Lock-It foundation, so I do not use so many words on the other 2 products.

The Wrapping

I’m crazy about the design of all the 3 products, it’s a pretty youthful design that stands out. I’m glad that the foundation comes with a pump, it’s super easy to dosage the amount of product and to see how much of the content is left in the bottle.

Application and the feeling on the skin

I had an idea of the consistency of this foundation, but I was quite surprised that it is so thick that it can lie in a big blob on the back of the hand without it moving if you turn your hand around.

Before applying, I give my skin a good amount of moisture, as the foundation is easy to cling to dry areas, it can quickly look the cake, then I also use my best tool, a clean and dry brush.

I have incredible big pores, so I had to take a small brush and blend foundation into the pores as they became more visible by a normal application.

The final result was an incredibly covered matte finish, there was no trace of my own skin as shining through. I think the skin looks flawless but healthy.

The result

I have experienced different results after having it on for 8 hours. The first time I used my Diorskin Forever Primer, which did not work at all, it crackled around my nose, forehead and the garden where I produce the most oil.

I, therefore, switched to Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer and experienced greater success. However, I still think it should be re-touched after a couple of hours.

It is a foundation that is primarily intended for a night out, where I go for the smokey matte look.

Hi, I’ve had a similar experience. It just doesn’t stay on my skin for long. I’ve only tried with the Lock-it primer underneath + moisturizer. Even if I applied powder and fixing spray, it still needs retouching every few hours. I thought it was my skin type but I see that it happens to other people, as well. Thanks for sharing this! Btw, what’s your skin type?

My skin type is oily skin. The Lock-it series is produced to oily skin so that’s disappointing 🙂
